This game has not been released yet
Engero Snakes and Ladders is still in development. No build of it has been published, so there is nothing to install and nothing for this page to describe as shipped. What follows is how the game is being built, on the same terms as the Engero Games titles that are already out. This page is rewritten against the shipping build, and checked line by line against what that build actually does, before the game appears on any store.
What the game is planned to store on your phone
- The player name you type in Settings, if you type one. It only ever greets you on your own screen.
- Your wins and losses against each computer strength, the games you have finished, and the longest run of wins you have had.
- The player count, mode and strength you last chose, the board theme, and every switch on the Settings screen.
- Nothing about you beyond that.
How it will be stored
In the small private storage area the operating system sets aside for the game, where other apps cannot read it. Nothing is written down about the other players in a pass-and-play game on one device: they are not named, not counted against each other and not recorded.
What the game will not collect
The plan is the same as the rest of the Engero Games shelf. No email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, location, camera, microphone or advertising identifier is asked for or kept, and there is no way to move any of them. No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting service is included. If the release keeps the pattern of the games already published, it takes no payment, holds nothing behind a purchase and asks for no PIN.
Permissions
The released build will state its own permissions here. The design asks for no permission that reaches outside the phone, including no internet permission, so the operating system has nothing to grant it; ordinary haptic feedback is the only system courtesy it requests.
Children
The game is being made to be safe to hand to anyone: no chat, no link out of the game, nothing to buy and no personal information taken from anybody.
